Miniature Badge, 13x9 mm., GOLD, as white enameled twelve-pointed star with ball-finials flanked by bundles of arrows held by ribands, obverse centre medallion with the laureated monogram “N” on beaming ground, within sky-blue enameled outer circlet bearing the motto “A JAMAIS” and a stylized laurel wreath below, reverse centre medallion with embossed image of the Imperial throne also on beaming ground, within sky-blue enameled outer circlet bearing the motto “TOUT POUR L’EMPIRE”, Imperial crown on top with blue enameled band, bearing to the obverse and reverse resp. “NAPOLEON” and “FONDATEUR” in golden lettering, large, round ring, struck with French marks and ribbon. A very rare decoration, almost excellent condition. I RR!

Royal Order of Netherlands
An embroidered Breast Star of the Order, 97 mm, the rays made of Silver thread with tiny loops to af x the star to the habit, round centre depicting a crowned rampant lion rising from waves, within the outer circlet bearing the motto ”DOE WEL EN ZIE NIET OM”, the reverse, with remains of the original, protective, green morocco leather backing. A most rare breast star of the type entirey embroidered, thus being one of the earliest of such stars, dating back to the year of institution, 1806, a worn piece, making it even more attractive, besides its patina, for being from the property of an outstanding personality of the Napoleonic years, extremely fine condition. Also known as the Star (or Medal) of the 2nd version. Breast Badge, 26 mm., GOLD, for officers, bordered cross of Maltese type, flanked by short, pomed cusps and by a thick, chiseled laurel wreath, centre medallion with embossed, laureated head of Dom Joao VI King of Portugal, within outer circlet bearing the embossed text “VOLUNTARIOS REAES DEl REI”, round, upper loop and round link-ring to which is mounted the horizontal, pivoting suspension bar, the reverse centre medallion, with the embossed inscription “MONTEVIDEO 1822 E 1823”. An extremely rare decoration perhaps even rarer in this version, excellent condition and fine patina. I RR!

Merit Cross of Miguel I of Bragança
Five armed 34x25 mm., GOLD Cross with sea-blue enameled border and ball finials to the tips, flanked by fleurs-de-lys, red enameled centre medallion bearing the golden bust of the King facing left, within beaded outer circlet, the reverse with finely chiseled and engraved details, centre medallion bearing the inscription “D.M.I.° 1829” in raised lettering on matted ground, rectangular upper loop and horizontal, golden ribbon bar. A beautiful, very rare decoration, worth further study to exactly determine its purpose. The excellent quality and execution of the piece, allows us to consider it as a high reward for special merits towards the sovereign. Excellent condition. I RR!

Breast Badge, 39x28 mm., gilt Bronze, five-armed cross with ball-finials flanked by beams, obverse centre medallion with embossed portrait of the Lady, smooth reverse, the centre medallion, embossed with monogram “JC”, on top, uniface Royal crown, broad, horizontal suspension bar embossed with oak leaves original, silk ribbon. A very rare fidelity cross, worn by the members of the “Abolutist Party”, faithful to the Queen, wife of D. Joao VI, mother of D. Miguel I, awarded in the 1828–30 period, excellent condition. I RR!

The Medal of Fidelity to the King and to the Fatherland, 1825 “Medalha de Fidelidade ao Rei e à Pátria”
Also known with the nickname of “Medal of the Dust” or “Medal of the War of the Dust”. Breast Badge, 27 mm., Gold, the obverse with head of the King facing right within laurel and oak wreath tied below, the reverse with the motto “FIDELIDADE AO REI E À PATRIA 1825” within thick laurel wreath, moulded suspension loop, round link ring and horizontal bar with slit. An extremely rare medal, especially when complete with its suspension, excellent condition. I RR! note: the medal was created as a reward to the officers of the Portuguese Armed Forces who remained loyal to the King and his heir to the throne, the Infante Dom Miguel, during the revolts of 1823.
