Treiden’, St. Petersburg. A beautiful and very rare star of Russian manufacture, identical to that illustrated in the mentioned work of G. Goh, although the inscription on the case (where the star perfectly fits) would allow us to have doubts with the author’s statement and identification, that we report for reason of uniformity with credited bibliography; almost extremely fine condition. An early Grand Cross Collar of the Order in firegilt Bronze, composed of 24 white/red lacquered crosses, 12 crowned "W" and 12 crowned "C" monograms, one of these, with hook to which is suspend the Order`s badge. A most important a highly rare collar from the mid 18th Century and, considering its age, in extremely fine condition. The Order of Dannebrog has a legendary history, dating back to 1219, when King Waldemar II created a chivalric order. King Christian V in 1671, instituted this Order as a reviving of the ancient one, and through its history, it still is Denmark`s highest distinction, after the Order of the Elephant. A Collar of the Order in Gilt Silver, composed by 12 green enameled links representing a traditional sign; 12 links in the form of a bird with spreaded wings and enameled details; the central link, with suspended the badge of the Order as a cross of Maltese type, each arm enameled with the national colours green-white-red, flanked by groups of arrows and spears; white enameled centre medallion, charged with the stylized bird, similar to that of the collar’s links, within green enameled palm wreath, enriched by two scrolls bearing resp. the inscriptions “12 X 1968” and “GUINEA EQUATORIAL INDEPENDENCIA”; polished reverse, with two nuts retaining the obverse centre. A very rare order, the collar class is reserved to the President of the Republic as Grand Master and can be awarded to heads of state only; excellent condition. A “jewelled” Knight’s Badge in Silver, with obverse arms completely set with diamonds; laurel and oak leaves also set with green emeralds, cut stones; centre medallion made of two parts in gold with Napoleon’s portrait, blue enameled medallion’s outer circlet with inscription “NAPOLEON EMP. DES FRANCAIS” in Gold; reverse and suspension crown (this, corresponding to the 3rd type), like the “normal” decorations; The link between the badge and the crown, with a “boar’s head” mark, struck for a subsequent sale of the piece in auction, after 1838; suspension ring struck with the “fasces” mark (1809-1819); with ancient ribbon.
