ORDER OF HOMAYOUN (SUN AND LION)
Grand Cross Set, 1st Class. Sash Badge, 75 x 69 mm., chiseled Silver star, composed of five major rays flanked by shorter ones, centre medallion with excellent enamel miniature of the Lion, on yellow background with beaming, rising sun, around, chiseled, round border, the upper ray with device and loop, linked to the ribbon ring, with diamond-cut chiseled details; with original, silk sash. Breast Star, 95 mm., Silver, hallmarked "swan", diamond-cut chiselled and pierced rays, flanked by green enameled short ones, centre medallion with excellently- made miniature painting, depicting the couching lion on the background of sun, the rays, under the translucent, yellow enamel, with a beautiful effect of reflexes, tapering pin and two side hooks, in case of issue by "Saniolmamalek - Teheran" with gilt weapon and class on the lid. A spendid set, in excellent condition. I R!

An early 1st Class Badge to be worn at the neck, 71 x 67 mm., chiseled Silver star, composed of five major rays flanked by shorter ones, centre medallion in gold with excellent enamel miniature of the Lion passant guardant, holding a scimitar, on sky-blue background with beaming, rising sun; around, triple, chiseled, round border, indicating the class, the upper ray with loop, linked to the ribbon ring, with diamond-cut chiseled details; with original, silk, neck ribbon. An extremely rare badge dating from the foundation of the order, excellent condition. I RR!

ORDER OF HOMAYOUN (SUN AND LION)
First Model Second Class Star. Breast Star of the Order, 66 mm, Silver, with chiselled and pierced rays, flanked by smooth, golden rays, centre medallion with beautiful enamel miniature depicting the couching lion and the sun beneath, within a thin, gold border. A very interesting and highly rare piece of Iranian manufacture, dating from the foundation of the order, extremely fine condition. I RR! The Order was founded by Fat’h Ali Shah Qadjar in 1808 to reward foreign personalities, both civil and military, had an interesting and complex evolution, always remaining as a prominent decoration until the end of the Iranian/Persian monarchy in 1979.

A set of high jeweler's quality, extremely rare from this maker, in extremely fine condition! I RR!
