Complete Set of the 1st Class after the Order�s reformation in more classes operated by King Muhammad Zahir Shah subsequently to his accession to the throne in 1933. Sash Badge as an openwork appendant with a silver faceted five-pointed star within stylized wheat wreath, 50 x 44 mm., GOLD, 32 g. approx., round upper loop and oval suspension ring, with original sash ribbon. Breast Star, 90 mm., GOLD, 120 g., with polished rays, centre medallion in gold with the coat of arms of the Afghani Kingdom in silver within outer circlet bearing inscription in Arabic script, the reverse struck with gold mark and fitted with vertical pin. A beautifully-made, very rare set, excellent condition. I RR!

Order of the Libertador San Martin
Grand Cordon (Collar) of the Order. Collar chain composed of 10 laurel wreaths, gilt Silver, 89 cm., alternated with 4 beaming �suns� as symbol of Argentina, closed �s� shaped closure-link, forward link with a central, decorative motif, flanked by stylized laurel leaves to which the badge is suspended, this, made of GOLD, 130 x 68 mm., with 16 highly-polished blade-shaped rays and 16 �flamed� beams, white bordered, golden centre medallion with applied bust of Gen. San Martin in gold, pale blue enameled outer circlet with inscription �LIBERTADOR SAN MARTIN� within a border set with brilliants, the reverse medallion with enameled Argentinian coat of arms on polished, golden ground, within white and pale blue enameled border, upper loop with link ring set with brilliants, joining the upper laurel wreath bearing a sabre of �Turkish� type with polished blade, upper suspension, in the form of a condor with open wings with small, ornated ring. An exceptionally rare set of this beautiful order, scarcely awarded to heads of state, excellent condition. I RR!

The Order of Merit
Grand Cross Set of the Order: Sash Badge, 74x78 mm, in gilt Silver as a cross composed of faceted beams flanked by waving, rounded ones, centre medallion with allegory of a man wearing working clothes holding a flag enameled with Argentina�s colours and the inscription �AL MERITO� above, within red enameled area with concave border, similar reverse, but bearing the enameled, Argentinian Coat of Arms to the centre, round suspension loop and moulded, tapering ring. Breast Star, 82 mm, similar to the badge�s obverse but larger, its reverse, fitted with vertical pin. Together with the Order`s miniature. A beautiful, very rare set of Argentina�s highest civil honour, in the class bestowed to Prime Ministers and Secretaries of State; excellent condition. Note: this order was founded by Juan Peron in 1946 and abolished in 1955; the Grand Cross was awarded in a very limited number of cases.

Order of the Golden Fleece
A bestowal document addressed to Archduke Leopold (1797�1870), nephew to the Emperor and later Grand Duke of Tuscany; given in Vienna, March 9th 1810, bearing the original signature of Emperor Francis I and of Anton Pfleger v. Wertenau (Chancellor of the Order) and Thomas Young (Secretary to the Imperial Cabinet and acting "Greffier" of the Order), 72,7 x 51,5 cm., the lower centre of the document, with embossed seal of the Order. A beautiful, calligraphic paper, written in French being the language of the Order, extremely rare, when addressed to members of the Imperial Family, excellent condition. I- RR!

Military Order of Maria Theresa
A Miniature of the Order, 19 x 15 mm., GOLD, white enameled cross of typical form, obverse centre medallion with the enameled colurs red-white-red, within white enameled outer circlet, white enameled reverse centre medallion, bearing the Imperial monogram, within translucent, green enameled outer circlet; round upper loop. A beautiful, extremely rare cross dating from the Napoleonic Wars, with sure signs of use, of excellent quality and condition, considering its age. I RR! Provenance: Count Gustaf Carl Friedrik L�wenhielm (1771�1856), born in Stockholm, as son of the Royal Swedish Chancellor, sent in 1781 to study at the University of Strasbourg he became an officer and participated to many military campaigns during the Napoleonic wars; in 1808, he fell prisoner of the Russians, being released one year later. He then passed to the diplomatic service under King Charles XIV Johann, being also granted the title of Director General of the Swedish theatres. This cross became also part of the Fitz-James collection, throughout today.

The Imperial Order of Leopold
An early, embroidered 1st Type Grand Cross Star. Breast Star, 103 mm., Silver rays made of thin, narrow silver-strip, the centre, made as the Order�s cross, made of sheet-silver, partly lacquered of red, bordered with gold wire, red lacquered centre medallion, with golden monogram �FIA� (Franciscus Imperator Augustus), white enameled outer circlet, bearing the Order�s motto �INTEGRITATI ET MERITO� in black lettering, the arms, flanked by beautifully chiseled oak leaves, made of gold, the reverse with original backing and a long hook made of brass wire, to affix the star to the habit, allowing an easy removing of it. A very rare star made in the finest, Austrian quality, from the 1st decade of 19th Century, excellent condition. I RR!

The Imperial Austrian Order of the Iron Crown
1st Class (Grand Cross) Star from ca. 1830. Breast Star, 85 mm, of almost Unique type with rounded rays with �frosted fields and polished borders, gold centre medallion with applied, enameled crown of Lombardy, sea blue enameled outer circlet with the Order�s motto �AVITA ET AUCTA� with chiseled lettering, two little stars and the finely chiselled motive of intertwined palm and oak branches through a laurel wreath (the same motive of the central link of the Order�s collar); the reverse, fitted with vertical pin. A beautiful, extremely rare early star, of an Italian Prince or Nobleman in the Kingdom of Sardinia, very similar to the early stars of the Order of St. Maurice and Lazarus, in superb condition.
