Commander’s Breast Star of slightly reduced size, 84x81 mm., GOLD, with red enameled details to the arms, flanked by polished beams, sky-blue enameled centre medallion, bearing the golden, elaborate Royal monogram, within green enameled laurel wreath around, tied by white enameled riband, bearing the golden inscription “A LA LEALTAD ACRISOLADA” and “POR ISABEL LA CATOLICA”, crowned, blue enameled tiny medallion, bearing the two pillars and the double orb, the reverse fitted with vertical pin of flattened section and struck with the maker’s mark “K.S.”. A beautiful, rare, early star from the mid 19th Century, excellent quality and condition. I R!
