Also known with the nickname of “Medal of the Dust” or “Medal of the War of the Dust”; Gold, the obverse with head of the King facing right within laurel and oak wreath tied below; the reverse with the motto “FIDELIDADE AO REI E À PATRIA 1825” within thick laurel wreath; moulded suspension loop, round link ring and horizontal bar with slit. An extremely rare medal, especially when complete with its suspension, excellent condition. Dia. 27,0 mm. Note: the medal was created as a reward to the officers of the Portuguese Armed Forces who remained loyal to the King and his heir to the throne, the Infante Dom Miguel, during the revolts of 1823.
