A jewelled Breast Star of the Order: Gold, finely chiseled base, with a fine, beaming effect, super- imposed by a six-pointed silver star whose rays are completely set with diamonds; ball finials also set with diamonds of larger size; flanked by three enameled roses resting on green leaves each; centre medallion in gold with separately-made, applied monogram “PA” (Pedro and Amelia, the Imperial couple), within blue enameled outer circlet bearing the motto “AMOR E FIDELIDADE” in gold lettering, above a Savoy-type knot, meaning the order’s motto of Love and Fidelity; the medallion is also enclosed in a large, gold border, set with brilliants; concave, polished reverse with thin, round gold pin. A luxuriously-made piece of great rarity, in the best jeweller’s quality and excellent condition. The jewelled pieces were awarded as a special grace of the Emperor and strictly reserved to royals and Princes. Dim.: 58 mm. I RR!
