A Breast Star of the Order in the typical, Brazilian, somewhat reduced size with straight, broadening smooth/grooved rays with swallow’s tail ends; polished silver centre medallion bearing the order’s cross in gold and enamels, with chiseled details; round border and a scrolling, polished outer circlet; on top, the enameled sacred heart in gold; smooth concave reverse, fitted with pin; in the original, red morocco “drop”-shaped case with black velvet inside af ivory silk lined inner cushion. A beautiful star from the mid 19th Century, of excellent manufactury and condition. Dim.: 65 x 59 mm. I RR!
