Order of the Wendish Crown
Breast Star, in Prince size (the so-called Prinzengr��e), 70x69 mm., 8-pointed star in Silver, with smooth, polished rays, the centre in gold, with blue-enameled medallion, bearing the Wendish crown made of embossed gold, within chiseled golden border, red enameled outer circlet bearing the separately-made moto �PER ASPERA AD ASTRA� in golden, chiseled lettering and a rosette, the whole enclosed within a golden border, polished, slightly concave reverse, fitted with vertical pin, black original case, with ivory-velvet fitted inner compartment, the silk, inner cushion, with maker�s mark of Godet, Berlin. An extremely rare, beautiful star dating to the last quarter of the 19th Century, expressely made on behalf of a German Prince or a high-ranking personality, beautiful patina, preserved in untouched, excellent condition.
