Medal for Labour Merit
A specially-made Jeweled Piece. Breast Badge, 58x49 mm., octagonal, toned GOLD and Silver medal, the obverse with allegory of work and the rising sun, below, white enameled field and applied Spain’s coat of arms in gold and finely-done enamels, blue enameled border, bearing silver inscription “AL MERITO EN EL TRABAJO”, surrounded by diamonds and above, an oak wreath, its acorns as tiny diamonds, the reverse, also of toned gold and silver, depicting an allegory of industry and the inscription “REAL DECRETO / D 22 D ENERO / 1926”, oval loop and round ring, with original, triangular, silk ribbon, with silver, crossed oak and palm branches and fitted with Spanish-style, rectangular suspension bar in gold, fitted with hinged pin to the reverse. A beautiful medal of the reign of Alfonso XIII (1902–1931) made by a skilled jeweler as an unique present to a prominent personality, excellent condition. I RR!
