Aristotle Mantel Clock
Important bronze mantel clock with golden patina, representing Aristotle the stagirite seated draped, the wooden base richly engraved on the front with foliage. The enameled dial with Roman numerals. The attributes of the philosopher (rolled manuscripts including undoubtedly "Happiness is born from virtue" are missing. Clock to be revised with missing glasses. Superb quality with great fine carving. French work from the beginning of the 19th century. Good general condition. Overall dimensions 67 x 55 cm, 47 cm for the statue alone. SUperb!
